Local FFA Alumni & Supporters chapters add value to a school's agricultural education program by supporting the local teacher and students.
What happens at the local level is a decision made by the local FFA Alumni & Supporters organization in cooperation with the local agriculture teacher (FFA Advisor), but oftentimes includes:
- Helping to coach student competitive teams
- Serving as chaperones/drivers to FFA events
- Hosting fundraisers to support local FFA member travel, jackets, or college scholarships
- Sending a delegation to the Nebraska FFA Alumni and Supporters Annual Convention in January
- The possibilities are limitless!
HOW TO START A LOCAL FFA ALUMNI AND SUPPORTERS CHAPTER:
Any community may start a local FFA Alumni Chapter if they have an active student FFA Chapter. Starting an FFA Alumni & Supporters Chapter is not as difficult as it may seem.
- Identify at least 10 members to put on your roster.
- Have current by-laws in harmony with the National FFA Organization (see sample fill-in-the-blank by-laws).
- Have a council of elected officers.
- Complete the Application for Chartering/Reactivating.
- Submit the completed Application for Chartering/Reactivating to the Nebraska FFA Alumni & Supporters Association Membership Chair, Tammie Steinhauer, steinfarms83@hotmail.com.

The annual fee for a Nebraska FFA Alumni & Supporters Chapter is a total of $200. ($100 will go to National FFA Alumni & Supporters, and $100 will go to Nebraska FFA Alumni & Supporters). There is no individual fee for annual members unless your chapter has a local membership fee which would stay with the local chapter.
WANT TO BE A MEMBER OF THE FFA ALUMNI & SUPPORTERS, BUT DON'T HAVE A LOCAL CHAPTER?
You may join the state and national level FFA Alumni and Supporters organization, even without a local chapter. You may either pay individual annual dues or choose a lifetime membership option.
- Life membership dues are $250. ($200 will go to National FFA Alumni & Supporters and $50 will go to Nebraska FFA Alumni & Supporters).
- Annual at-large membership $16.
